What if we all stopped?

January 13, 2012

What if we all stopped? Just for one day… Falling exhausted to the ground… Exhausted from meetings, doing, achieving, surviving, running, misunderstanding, changing, making it happen…

Falling exhausted to the ground and lie there breathless. For a while…

And then slowly, started to breath again… Feeling the fresh air coming into our lungs, having a taste, having a colour. Suddenly… Looking around… Seeing things like we don’t usually see them… Anew… Glowing… There… Beautiful… Things no more…

And looking up to the sky and seeing the dancing clouds, the smiling sun, the freedom and the promise.

Looking around us and seeing the trees, the birds, the grass shivering in the wind. Smelling the air, the earth and blending with the paradise…

Smiling… Looking at each other and seeing each other for the first time. Seeing each other… And smiles turning into tears… Of love, of joy, of being…

What if we all stopped? Just for one day…

What would we find? Are we ready to?
And…

Would we ever start again?

The Galactic Council

December 27, 2011

If you were standing as the first human ever…

At the Galactic council of all the races of the Universe…

I am curious…
What would you choose to speak about?

To races who know not much of what you live every day,
To races eager to grasp your every word and learn about
This new species called Humans…
What would you choose to speak about?

Would you speak about love, beauty, hope, dreams, compassion, kindness?
And how would you describe it?
Would you speak about hate, destruction, wars and conflict?
And how would you describe it?
What would you choose to speak about?

What would you say about our past?
What would you say about our present?
What would you say about our future?
What would you choose to speak about?

Would you speak about yourself or rather about others you aspire to?
Would you speak about humans at their best or the humans we are everyday?
How much would you share about us and how much would you reveal about yourself?
What would you choose to speak about?

Would your speech be an invitation, confession, celebration or confusion?
Would you want the others to visit you ‘home’ one day or rather not?
Would you be full of hope or despair, acceptance or judgment?
What would you say and what would you leave out?
What would you choose to speak about?

What would the others who share our planet say about your speech?
Would you want y(our) mother to know?

I am curious…
If you were standing as the first human ever,
At the Galactic council of all the races of the Universe,
What would you choose to speak about?

Guiding our world

November 20, 2011

On my recent walk in a park close to my apartment in Prague, I have witnessed quite a remarkable scene. A dog jumped into a freezing water (November) and proceeded to swim around, initially to chase ducks but as the time went on, it felt it was just randomly swimming in panic, likely form the cold water. It was making squeaking noises and swimming for a few minutes. I stood along the side of the pond watching what is happening and a bit concerned for the dog. There was another group of pople standing close and having a good time observing the dog in the water. I assumed it was their dog and trusted their judgment about safety of what was happening, yet not completely sure whether the dog needs help or not…

Suddenly a man comes running from the nearby pub, shouting the name of the dog and capturing his attention. He picked up a piece of wood and threw it into the pond, half-way between him and the dog. He shouted fetch and the dog abandoned his panic and swam towards the floating branch. After it reached it, the man shouted to bring it to him; a move the dog had to perform thousand times before. The dog continued through the water with the branch in its mouth and got out of the water.

It was remarkable scene for me as I witnessed the man using his relationship with the dog, his ingenuity, creativity and the fact that he knew the dog would react to his command. His clear and thoughtful instructions got the dog out of his panic, helped him to focus and got him safely out of the water…

We humans are part of nature as any other species, any other expression of life. Throughout our history we have been gifted with self-awareness and an ability to learn which allowed us to develop our intelligence in remarkable ways. It helps us to creatively react in situations like these, it helps us to dream futures into being, it helps us to go beyond any limitation, it helps us to re-shape the world around us…

My wish is that similarly to this situation, as humanity, we display care, creativity and true leadership in terms of how we ‘guide’ each other, our society as well as life around us out of the panic towards safe, healthy and ever-evolving future…

Weaving Dreams

November 8, 2011

Let us look together onto the new world,
Let us scratch the crumbling window,
Let us peek behind it and see our future,
Let us recognize the rhythm of destiny,
And weave her strands together…

Let us dream with intention, boldly as never before
Let us create from the field beyond right and wrong
Let us listen to the flow of life and shape it with our imagination
Let us remember why we came her and forget that we can’t do it
Let us sing the song of our dreams and our future…

Together, forever, from now on…

As one…

September 28, 2011

What if we think of humanity as one interconnected organism? The sheer scale of its experience on an ‘average’ day is infinite…

The aggregate joy, the suffering, the dreams, the confusions, the myriad of thoughts and rainbow of feelings, the pleasure, the pain, the will and hope and loss and abandonment of life. The aggression, the lust, the drive, the growth, the interconnected and separate journeys that play and dance with each other in an interplay of destiny and free will. The hate, the anger, the compassion and forgiveness. The unspoken, unrecognized yet lived and experienced…

All belong…

How many dreams were reached today and how many abandoned? How many people fell in love and how many broke down lonely and hurt? How many smiled and how many cried? How many learned something new, how many cared, how many did something they never had courage to? How many decisions and choices were made today that we will never know about? How many ideas captured and how many missed? How many feelings shared and how many locked up forever? How many people passed away and how many drew their breath for the very first time? How many…?

The world and the experience of life… One can only stay in wonder and awe from one moment to the next, living as fully as one is able to. Alone and together, separate and connected, diverse and alike…

Earth Hour 2010

March 20, 2010

This is a short inspiring video that clearly demonstrates the power of human connection producing powerful coordinated action and meaningful statement on a global problem.

What else can be done towards our future if we can already impact nearly 1,000,000,000 people with initiative like this?

What else do you see possible?
