As one…

September 28, 2011

What if we think of humanity as one interconnected organism? The sheer scale of its experience on an ‘average’ day is infinite…

The aggregate joy, the suffering, the dreams, the confusions, the myriad of thoughts and rainbow of feelings, the pleasure, the pain, the will and hope and loss and abandonment of life. The aggression, the lust, the drive, the growth, the interconnected and separate journeys that play and dance with each other in an interplay of destiny and free will. The hate, the anger, the compassion and forgiveness. The unspoken, unrecognized yet lived and experienced…

All belong…

How many dreams were reached today and how many abandoned? How many people fell in love and how many broke down lonely and hurt? How many smiled and how many cried? How many learned something new, how many cared, how many did something they never had courage to? How many decisions and choices were made today that we will never know about? How many ideas captured and how many missed? How many feelings shared and how many locked up forever? How many people passed away and how many drew their breath for the very first time? How many…?

The world and the experience of life… One can only stay in wonder and awe from one moment to the next, living as fully as one is able to. Alone and together, separate and connected, diverse and alike…

Joy to be alive

June 3, 2010

I sit here aware and happy to be alive. What a joy to be here. I close my eyes and see images, smells, sounds, feelings. All the countries I have traveled or heard about, for a moment I am there. All the people I had a chance to meet, be with, love, share some moments with. For a moment I am with them. All the moments of fun, joy, all the moments of disappointment and frustration, for a moment I live them. All available, right now, I can choose where to go…

A phone next to me is flashing with another email that just arrived. I am curious, what future will this gathering of bites open for me? Onto the next thing, the next thing, the next thing… The dance of becoming is so quick,so tempting, so forward looking. The urge to self-realize, to make happen, to act, to do, to move forward. The more it makes crucial the moments of being, thetime to just be with all that was, that is and that will be. The moments to nurture, to connect, to acknowledge and appreciate.

Like an open book that we are reading and that has a thought that makes us look up, stare into nowhere and have a minute to fully take in what we just read, its beauty and message, to have it fully become a part of who we are forever. That minute is so important for the things we read, for the conversations we have and for the lives we live.

Take it before you rush off. I know you will…

Have a nice day…

PS The email that came was a TED talk reminding us of the beauty of what is as well as the necessity to fight for what will be. All starts with awareness…
